The tower of the historical Riverside church in New York accommodates a manual carillon and ten big swinging bells. The largest swinging bell weighs about 18,5 tons, the smallest a bit more than 2,2 tons.
This bell installation was originally set up by the bell founder Gillett & Johnston. Our local dealer renovated the installation some years ago. Now, the 5 swinging bells have new swing motors and are equipped with our electronic swing system MOVOTRON.
This expert system constantly registers all important swing parameters, such as, for instance, the bell's swing angle. The MOVOTRON bell ringing system provides the bell with the exact amount of swing energy. This way, the electronic swing system MOVOTRON efficiently protects both the bells and the bell tower.
The rope-pulled strikers of the 5 other heavy bells have been modernised too. This bell installation is commanded by the APOLLO master clock, which was developed by us. It is equipped with a GPS system.
